A Black and White Wedding at Hotel Washington

filed under

This black and white wedding at the Hotel Washington was an epic celebration of culture, music, and movement.

From flamenco during dinner to a late-night batucada, Karla and Armando’s Hotel Washington wedding was a celebration of movement, music, and modern elegance, set against a timeless black and white color palette.

Overlooking the White House, Hotel Washington offers the perfect blend of iconic views and city sophistication. K & A leaned into a classic black-and-white aesthetic, accented with towering white orchids and glowing candlelight. It was a design that felt refined yet inviting, setting the tone for a celebration full of spirit.

Dinner unfolded to the rhythm of a flamenco dancer weaving through tables, a nod to the couple’s love for culture and performance. Guests later filled the dance floor as a live band played Puerto Rican classics, as a nod to their heritage, followed by a DJ who kept the party going well into the night.

A sleek photo booth and a surprise batucada added layers of energy and joy to an already vibrant evening. The kind of night that didn’t slow down—it built momentum.

As a photographer, I’m drawn to weddings that balance elegance with energy. Hotel Washington provided the ideal backdrop for both. This wedding felt like DC at its finest: stylish, spirited, and unforgettable.
