What comes to mind when you think of spending a Summer day on the Eastern Shore? Maybe a fresh breeze, sun streaming across the bay, or the smell of salt in the air. Everything about John and Renee’s wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club spoke to the values of understated luxury, from the ambiance of a waterfront venue, complete with that vision of Summer, to their perfect-for-June embellishments of cornflower yellow. Their celebration brought together a sophisticated coastal aesthetics and deeply meaningful moments in a way that felt effortless.
For Renee and John, the venue was an immediate fit. “We knew we wanted to get married by or on the water, so the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club was perfect to us,” said Renee. Its sweeping views of the bay, beautifully appointed spaces, and exceptional team made it an ideal setting for a wedding that felt both grand and grounded. They kicked off the weekend with a welcome party at Libbey’s Coastal Kitchen and Cocktails, setting the tone for a full guest experience.
Renee and John approached their wedding day with clear priorities: time together, celebrating with loved ones, and creating a visual story that reflected their personalities. The 23-person wedding party stood beside them, dressed in a stylish palette of blues and yellows, with mismatched gowns adding visual depth and individual flair. The ceremony, officiated by Renee’s brother, took place with the bay as a backdrop. It was an intimate, emotional moment that anchored the day with meaning.
Personal details made the celebration unforgettable: a signature drink menu named after their dog, Charlie; an oyster bar highlighting local flavor; a cigar lounge for late-night unwinding; and sunset portraits that gave them a few moments together, just the two of them. Charlie even joined for the first look.
